Welcome
Thank You for visiting a lifetime with a camera. I'm the "last of a dying breed" of advertising car photographers from Detroit. This is an attempt to show my work from the 1950's through present day. Adding more as time rolls on. My background was in advertising photography enjoyed documentary, film and editorial venues. Shooting stills of people and large production scenes. Most of the images are on Kodachrome 25 film that I loved to use which had a slow speed, wonderful color and fine grain. I will get into more interesting stories of photographers and experiences. Working and meeting famous people are in the My Stories section.
Standard photographic camera equipment used were Deardorf (8X10), Hasselblad (21/4). 35mm Nikon cameras were starting out and the use of small negative images were forbidden by ad agencies because of their lack of quality for large reproductions such as billboards and full page magazine usage. We used the finest glass lenses such as Schneider, Kodak, and German made Zeiss. They were the basic elements for great quality. Reproductions for retouches, art studios and web printing companies made it mandatory that larger images were to be used. B/W's prints on paper silver gelatin, color C prints, type R's and dye transfer color prints were standard materials used for proper reproduction.
I hope you appreciate my workmanship and wonderful lifestyle I enjoyed behind the camera.
Thanks again for your time!
