My interest in art has always be in me since I was a young guy. Not big on the crayons but do remember liking certain colors. I did many summer craft sessions at a school across the street from where I lived in Detriot. Gum turpentine...the smell made me fall in love with painting. I painted everything from little creations to helping my Dad paint the garage as long as I smell that thinner. My interest in photography came at the age of 13 or so. I saw a book by Peter Gowland, a great glamor photographer from LA, CA. I thought what a way to make a living being around naked women. I had to keep the book under wraps to keep my pure image with my Mother. My Dad built me a small darkroom in the furnace room in the basement which became interesting trying to keep my chemicals under correct temperature for processing but I figured it out and was very happy. My first camera was a $13.00 special from China called a Classic.
As the years progressed, I really used studio cameras but I liked Rolliflexs. Twin lense reflex camera that had very sharp lenses and wonderful results. Never really fell head over hells with any till Hasselblad cameras came out. What a piece of equipment.
